FACULTY–ADMINISTRATION INTERFACE MEETING
Visakhapatnam, 23 June 2026
As part of its commitment to academic excellence, quality patient care, research advancement, and faculty development, Andhra Medical College (AMC), Visakhapatnam, conducted a Shared Governance Meeting – Administration–Faculty Interface Meeting on 23 June 2026 at the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Auditorium, Centenary Alumni Building.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. K. V. S. M. Sandhya Devi, Principal, Andhra Medical College, and attended by Dr. I. Vani, Superintendent, King George Hospital, Dr. G. Rajendra Prasad, Vice Principal, Dr. A. Krishna Veni, Vice Principal, Heads of Departments, faculty members from AMC, KGH, and peripheral hospitals.
The meeting served as an important platform for constructive dialogue between the administration and faculty, fostering a culture of shared governance, transparency, and collaborative decision-making.
Key discussions focused on:
* Academic excellence and strengthening CBME implementation
* National Medical Commission (NMC) updates and institutional preparedness
* Research activities, publications, and funding opportunities
* Quality improvement initiatives in patient care
* Faculty development programmes including BCME, CISP, ACME and other FDPs
* Faculty welfare, professional growth, and grievance redressal
* Institutional priorities and future strategic planning
Addressing the gathering, the Principal emphasized the collective responsibility of faculty members in maintaining the high standards and legacy of Andhra Medical College while preparing the institution for future challenges and opportunities. The Superintendent highlighted the critical role of faculty in ensuring excellence in patient care, clinical teaching, and healthcare delivery.
An interactive open forum enabled faculty members to share their suggestions, concerns, and innovative ideas for improving academic activities, research output, hospital services, and institutional functioning. The administration assured continued support and active engagement in addressing issues raised by faculty.
The meeting concluded with a consensus on strengthening communication, promoting collaborative leadership, and working together towards the shared vision of excellence in medical education, research, patient care, and faculty development.
