Background

As part of institutional efforts to strengthen postgraduate medical education and promote learner engagement, an Administrative Meeting with Postgraduate Students was organized to facilitate interaction between the administration and postgraduate learners. The meeting provided a platform to discuss academic, clinical, research, and welfare-related issues while reinforcing the principles of competency-based postgraduate medical education.

Objectives

1. To establish effective communication between the administration and postgraduate students.

2. To orient postgraduate students regarding academic expectations and professional responsibilities.

3. To discuss issues related to patient care, research, professionalism, and institutional policies.

4. To obtain feedback from postgraduate students for continuous quality improvement.

5. To promote a supportive learning environment aligned with National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines.

Proceedings

The meeting commenced with a welcome address by Dr. P. S. N. Raju, who highlighted the importance of postgraduate students as future clinicians, academicians, researchers, and healthcare leaders.

Dr. K. V. S. M. Sandhya Devi, Principal, Andhra Medical College, addressed the gathering and emphasized academic excellence, professional conduct, ethical practice, research engagement, and the role of postgraduate students in upholding the legacy of Andhra Medical College.

Dr. I. Vani, Superintendent, King George Hospital, discussed patient care responsibilities, clinical professionalism, documentation, communication skills, and patient safety practices.

The meeting included discussions on:
