
Message of Condolence
The Department of Physiology, Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam, expresses its deepest sorrow on the passing away of Dr. E. Lakshmi, M.D., Retired Professor of Physiology, Andhra Medical College, and Former Principal, SVMC, Tirupati, on 30th March 2026.
To honour her memory and remarkable contribution to medical education, a condolence meeting was held on 5th May 2026 in the Department of Physiology, Andhra Medical College.
Dr. E. Lakshmi was remembered with great respect as an outstanding teacher, committed academician, disciplined administrator, and inspiring mentor. Her dedication towards teaching, academic excellence, and student welfare left a lasting impact on generations of medical students and colleagues.
The Principal of Andhra Medical College, Dr. KVSM Sandhya Devi, fondly recalled her student days and shared how Dr. E. Lakshmi passionately encouraged learning among students and maintained exemplary discipline during her tenure as Warden.
Dr. M. Padma Geethanjali, Professor & Head, Department of Physiology, presented a brief account of Dr. E. Lakshmi’s distinguished career, achievements, and fellowships. Faculty members including Dr. R. Parvathi, Dr. G. Subba Rao, Dr. Uday Kumar and others shared heartfelt memories and paid rich tributes to her invaluable guidance and noble personality.
All faculty members and postgraduate students of the Departments of Physiology and Anatomy were present on the occasion and joined in paying homage to the departed soul.
The faculty, staff, students, and alumni of Andhra Medical College convey their sincere condolences to the bereaved family members. Her legacy as a teacher and mentor will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
