College Day Celebrations – “WAVES 2025”

The College Day Celebrations of Andhra Medical College (AMC), Visakhapatnam — one of the oldest and most prestigious medical institutions in India — were held with grandeur and enthusiasm on 12th November 2025 at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Auditorium, CAB. The celebrations, themed “WAVES 2025,” showcased the academic excellence, achievements, and vibrant cultural spirit of AMC.

Hon’ble Minister of Social Welfare, Disabled and Senior Citizen Welfare, and District In-charge Minister for Visakhapatnam, Dr. Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, an illustrious alumnus of Andhra Medical College, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, Dr. Swamy fondly recalled his days at AMC and emphasized the Government’s continued commitment to strengthening medical education and healthcare infrastructure across the state.

Sri M. Sribharat, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Visakhapatnam, attended as the Guest of Honour. In his inspiring speech, he highlighted the pivotal role of medical students as the “generation next” healthcare leaders, urging them to serve society with compassion, innovation, and integrity.

The program was presided over by Dr. K.V.S.M. Sandhya Devi, Principal & Addl. DME, Andhra Medical College, who welcomed the dignitaries and spoke about AMC’s century-old legacy of excellence in medical education, research, and patient care.

Distinguished Guests included Sri Ch. Vamsi Krishna Srinivas, MLA (Visakhapatnam South); Dr. Ravi Raju Tatapudi, MD DM D.Sc (Hon) FRCP (Lon); and Dr. Rokkam Sasi Prabha, MD DGO.

The event featured colorful cultural performances by students, reflecting the college’s energy and creativity. The organizing committee, led by General Secretaries T. Venkata Subhash and K. Rama SonyCultural Secretaries K. Tarun Aditya and P. Subha, and Sports Secretaries N. Bhanu Sasitha and I. Syamala, coordinated the event seamlessly.

The evening concluded with the presentation of awards to meritorious students and staff, followed by a vote of thanks. The College Day Celebrations 2025 stood as a proud reflection of AMC’s enduring spirit — a blend of academic excellence, service, and unity.
