Constitution of India Pledge Ceremony at Andhra Medical College
Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam, proudly organized a Constitution of India Pledge event on 26 November 2025, marking Constitution Day (Samvidhan Divas) and reaffirming the values enshrined in the nation’s Constitution.
The programme began with a brief introduction on the significance of Constitution Day and the visionary contribution of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, Chairman of the Drafting Committee.
Dr. KVSM Sandhya Devi, Principal, and Dr. A. Krishna Veni, Vice Principal, attended the event and joined the faculty, staff, and students of Andhra Medical College in taking the pledge. Their presence inspired the gathering and emphasized the importance of constitutional values in academic and professional life.
The Preamble to the Constitution of India was read aloud, and all participants collectively pledged to uphold:
Justice – social, economic, and political
Liberty – of thought, expression, belief, faith, and worship
Equality – of status and opportunity
Fraternity – assuring the dignity of the individual and unity and integrity of the nation
Speaking on the occasion, the leadership highlighted the responsibility of every citizen—especially future healthcare professionals—to practice constitutional principles in service, ethics, and public welfare. The event reinforced the importance of democratic spirit, civic responsibility, and professional integrity in medical practice.
The programme concluded with a renewed commitment to promote constitutional awareness and uphold the spirit of the Indian Constitution in daily life and professional conduct.
