Dr. B. S. Chakravarthy is a distinguished Pediatrician, Academician, and Healthcare innovator serving as Professor and Head of the
Department of Pediatrics at Andhra Medical College (AMC) and King George Hospital (KGH), Visakhapatnam.
With decades of experience in pediatric healthcare, medical education, and public health, he has dedicated his career to improving child
health outcomes and advancing pediatric services in Andhra Pradesh.
A passionate advocate for accessible healthcare, Dr. Chakravarthy has been instrumental in integrating digital technologies into
child health screening, growth monitoring, nutrition assessment, developmental surveillance, and preventive care.
Under his guidance, the PaedCare KGH initiative has developed a suite of free digital child health tools designed to support parents,
healthcare workers, and child health professionals.
As an educator, he has mentored numerous undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, pediatric residents, and healthcare
professionals. His commitment to academic excellence, evidence-based medicine, and patient-centered care has earned him
the respect of colleagues, students, and the wider medical community.
His areas of interest include pediatric nutrition, child growth and development, immunization, developmental screening, community
pediatrics, and the application of digital health technologies in pediatric practice. He firmly believes that early identification and
intervention are the cornerstones of improving child health and developmental outcomes.
