Andhra Medical College Hosts Inspiring White Coat Ceremony for Professional Year I Students

Visakhapatnam, 5 October 2026: Andhra Medical College (AMC), Visakhapatnam, successfully conducted the White Coat Ceremony 2026-27 for the newly admitted Professional Year I MBBS students at the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Auditorium, CAB-AMC Campus. The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the lives of aspiring medical professionals as they formally embraced the values, responsibilities, and ethics of the medical profession.

The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge, wisdom, and dedication to patient care. Distinguished guests, faculty members, parents, and students assembled to celebrate the beginning of the students’ journey into the noble profession of medicine. The ceremony was graced by eminent medical education leaders, Dr. T. Ravi Raju, Former Director of Medical Education and Former Vice Chancellor of Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, and Dr. T. Radha, Former Principal of Andhra Medical College, as Chief Guests. In their inspiring addresses, they emphasized the values of compassion, integrity, professionalism, empathy, and lifelong learning that form the foundation of medical practice.

The program was presided over by Dr. K. V. S. M. Sandhya Devi, Additional Director of Medical Education and Principal, Andhra Medical College. Among the distinguished dignitaries present were Dr. Chandrasekhar Naidu, I/C Superintendent, King George Hospital, Dr. A. Krishna Veni, Vice Principal (Academic), AMC, and Dr. V.
