Republic Day Celebrations – 26 January 2026

Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam, celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India with pride and patriotic fervour at the Vennella Arena on 26th January 2026.

The celebrations commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by Dr. K.V.S.M. Sandhya Devi, MD, Principal & Addl. DME, Andhra Medical College, followed by the National Anthem. The programme was attended by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Vice Principal (Administration)Dr. Manmadha Rao, Vice Principal (Academics)Mr. Shaik Bajith, Assistant DirectorMr. Rajendra Kumar, Administrative Officer, faculty members, staff, students, and NCC cadets.

A Guard of Honour was presented by the 4(A) Naval Medical Unit, AMC NCC, reflecting discipline, dedication, and national pride. In her Republic Day address, the Principal emphasized the vision of “Viksit Bharat @2047”, highlighting the crucial role of medical education, research, and healthcare institutions in nation building. She underscored that a developed India is achievable only through academic excellence, ethical medical practice, innovation, and inclusive healthcare delivery.

The Principal also highlighted the academic excellence and legacy of Andhra Medical College, one of the oldest and most prestigious medical institutions in the country. She appreciated the continuous achievements of AMC in academics, clinical services, research, and public health contributions, made possible through the dedicated efforts of its faculty, staff, and students.

As part of the celebrations, over 234 Merit and Appreciation Certificates were distributed to meritorious faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students across various cadres, recognizing their outstanding performance, academic achievements, administrative efficiency, and committed service to the institution.

The programme also featured patriotic songs by students, enriching the spirit of the occasion. The celebrations concluded with a vote of thanks and distribution of refreshments.

The Republic Day celebrations at Andhra Medical College reaffirmed its commitment to the constitutional values of the nation, the vision of Viksit Bharat, and the pursuit of excellence in medical education and healthcare service.
