PATHOLOGY

The department has been holding classes for MBBS students, as well as BSc Nursing, BSc MLT, DMLT course and other paramedical course students in addition to training PG students. All PGs are involved in research projects. IHC (Immuno histochemistry) was started in the year 2012 and marker studies on limited panels for breast cancer, lymphoma are being done. This department has benefited greatly from the generosity of several AMCANA members such as Dr(s). Ravi and Seshu Sarma and Dr. Seetharamayya Nagula. The department is a nodal center for ICHH (Integrated Centre for Hemoglobinopathies and Hemophilia). The Blood Bank is under the department and through this transfusion services of whole blood, packed cells, FFP and single donor platelets are provided. The department has several iconic faculty who have been internationally recognized for their research such as ‐ Dr. T. Bhaskar Menon’s work on “pathological studies on splenomegaly”, Dr. C.R.R.M Reddy’s work on “Chutta Cancer” as well as Dr. D. Bhaskara Reddy’s work on “Indian Childhood Cirrhosis”.
