Professional Year – I ( PY I )

The first professional year of MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) covers the Basic Medical Sciences and introduces students to clinical medicine. It may include subjects such as Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry & Community Medicine. Students learn about the structure and function of the human body, the biochemical processes that occur in the body, the causes and mechanisms of diseases, and the principles of drug therapy. This year lays the foundation for further medical education and clinical practice.
